I’ve got tha pow-ah
September 23rd, 2003Well, there wasn’t really all that much wind but we got a lot of rain on Thursday night. Our power went out at 7:30 on Thursday. Over the course of the weekend it would flicker on for 24 minutes at a time, but it wasn’nt until Monday morning in the wee hours that It came on for good.
Sunday we spent cleaning out the fridge. Step one: pour contents of fridge into garbage. Step two: wipe out all the funk in the bottom
Tonight we attempted to make dog food from the chicken parts we bought at the very last possible second from the frozen food distributor on Friday afternoon. It was a gamble and we lost. Now we have the small problem of 80 pounds of rotting chicken meat and trash pickup is Wednsday morning. Not to mention the need for 80 more pounds of chicken and the time to grind it up into dog food.
Somehow, during the Isabel cleanup, I got poison ivy on my hands, face, neck, etc. I went to the doctor and they gave me some high-powered steroid pills and recommended claritin to ward off the itching. It seems to all be working well, especially the insomnia side effect.
