Old Photographs

I’m currently going through all of my old computers and attempting to consolidate and organize all the old photographs. This necessarily requires me to look at a lot of old photographs. Some are awful, some are awesome and some, like this one, remind me of crazy, intense feelings.

The day before this picture was taken D and I had driven to Cleveland where she traded me as her travelling companion for Lisa. Then they drove west toward Chicago. Just as they were passing through Toledo they met some serious, serious thunder/rain/tornado storms. They pressed on with their mission to pick up the little puppies. They basically got there grabbed some dogs and turned around, stopping off in mid-Ohio to drop off Lucy’s littermate Rocky. They arrived back in Cleveland at about breakfast time to trade out Lisa for me again and haul us all back to NoVA. With a little puppy, you can never be sure what the whimpering is about so you always assume the worst. In one case as we drove through Pennsylvania Lucy gave us ample warning to allow us to find a large, safe, grassy place to stop and run around a little bit. And maybe try flying.
