dot htaccess howto
October 27th, 2005 | by jg3 |Every few months I want to set up something, somewhere on an apache webserver to be restricted so that only the proper eyes can see it. Apache’s built in basic config works acceptably well for this, but I always seem to have a devil of a time finding the document that explains how to do it. So, rather than brewing my own version of the document, I’ll provide a link to the canonical document that describes it:
http://httpd.apache.org/docs/1.3/howto/auth.html#basicconfig
